The truly blessed

Just wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

I hope we each find special gifts awaiting us under the Christmas tree.

For those who receive the gift of animals, remember this, they are the lucky ones. You may get a new horse or pet, but they get a family. For that they are blessed. Cherish each day you have with them, as you never know how many lay before you.

  5. I hope everyone had a great holiday and CP you sound a bit excited! Am I wrong? lol

I would love to see more pics of your new guy. He sounds wonderful and you are obviously proud of him. As far as the riding pics go, no worries, it will all come back with time. You'll get there. I'm still trying to get there too!

Video helps us 'visual learners' to actually see what we are doing so we can fix it for the next ride... as much as we would like to go back and destroy those tapes, later they are kinda fun to watch and say "Thankfully I Have improved!"

  6. There was a question on the last post about blanket cleaning and repairs. That works out in a good way on a couple of things.

My one mare tore her blanket a while back, so I can show the damage and the repair process as well as going over easy ways to clean and store them. No I still haven't fixed the blanket yet. Just washed it, tucked the strap in and put it away. *hangs head in shame*

  7. This is a topic for JR's blog...

What happens when your horse is naughty but you get severe giggles and can't correct him? ha ha.

I feel blessed that my old fart felt chipper and happy enough to act like a 2-yr-old!

    Isn't that a great feeling?

  8. CP- why do you think my mare got away with so much? The first time you are just so happy they feel that good. The next few times it starts to lose the luster, then you start to tire of it and before long it is no longer funny. Don't worry too much about it, but you may start correcting it before it goes too far. BTW, you should have mail unless te network is being a pain again.

  10. CP- he is a handsome boy! Those eyes just draw you in and keep your attention long enough for him to steal your heart and thoughts.

  11. He IS a kind soul, but I'm afraid he is quite the girly man at times. Also he has ginormous withers.... I wonder what he will look like if I get his topline muscled up some more? This will be a spring project...

Hey, peeps, what's it mean when a horse has white stripes on his legs instead of full-on stockings? Chip's got 'em on 2 legs.

He also has a stocking that aaaaallllmost hits the top of his hock, and a normal stocking on the remaining leg. And a big blaze that makes his nose look big and smooshy.

Also, if you are not mushy gushy about your kids and pets... then I feel sorry for you!!!! ;-) Maybe it's just the hormones talking this week, but I feel very sentimental about my daughter, my cat (Fat Carlos), my dog (Trixie), ol' Chip, and... um... oh yeah, that one guy. My husband. Him, over there with the tolerant look on his face.

  12. This is the abuse I get from CNJ:

I send her an IM "Are you there God, it's me Margaret"

    Here was GODS answer:

You have reached the office of God. Due to budget cuts, we are now closed. If you are calling between the hours of twilight and sunrise please leave a message and the next available Saint will return your call during normal business hours. If this is an emergency, please hang up and call sky-1-1. If you need immediate assistance, please hang up and hit the floor, assuming the prayer position. If you have a legal question or concern, attorneys can be reached by dialing 1-800-oh-4-hell. Thank you for calling.

And if this is you Margaret, WHAT NOW?
